How to resolve FileCatalyst Server port conflict?

By default, FileCatalyst Server is configured to run on port 21. This is the port most FTP servers use. When running FileCatalyst for the first time, once the FileCatalyst Server window opens up and you notice a red balloon at the bottom right side of the window with the caption “FileCatalyst Server Stopped”. This could mean that there is a port conflict with your existing FTP Server.

If you open the logs, you will see a message similar to.

“Mon Jul 14 17:49:44 EDT 2008 – Listen socket is closed or null, waiting for restart message….”

To solve this, click on Advanced on the left tabs and specify a different port for the Server port.
